Thinking Forward - Ambulance Services in Diverse Settings, Council of Ambulance Authorities
The role and capability of ambulance services around the world continues to evolve; to meet the needs of an ageing and demanding population, with an increasing prevalence of mental health issues and to link effectively with other parts of healthcare systems, their development and evolution. The recent round of extreme weather events, including Typhoon Haiyan in The Philippines, the intense heatwaves and more frequent cyclones currently being experienced in parts of Australia and the polar vortex in the northern Hemisphere, provide challenges to our services often calling for inventive responses. Our Conference will explore how we currently respond to these challenges and address some of the lessons learnt. 26 -28 August, Darwin, Northern Territory.
